Wa Ale Island Resort is located on the 9,000 acre island of Wa Ale in the untouched Lampi Marine National Forest in southern Myanmar. Scheduled to open January 2018, Wa Ale is an exclusive eco-conservation resort with just 11 luxury Tented Beach Villas and 9 Treetop Suites.
Wa Ale Island Resort is a luxury boutique retreat tailored to the outdoor adventure enthusiast who enjoys an array of outdoor activities including: scuba diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding, jungle hikes and kayaking. In addition to these activities, Wa Ale also invites their guests to take time to learn about the local “Moken” fishing community and turtle conservation on Wa Ale and ways to protect this special region.
The Mergui/Myeik Archipelago is off the Southwestern coast of Myanmar is virtually untouched and has been secluded for years. With the recent opening of Southern Myanmar to the public, there are limited accommodations in this region. Wa Ale Island Resort is proud to be one of the first conservation based resorts in the Archipelago.
Wa Ale Island Resort is open only in the high season between October and May and is conveniently accessed by 5 airlines that fly from Yangon to Kawthaung, Myanmar. Upon arrival guests are transferred from the airport 7 miles to Kawthaung jetty where a luxury speed boat will then transport the guests 2 hours to the island.
