Day 1 – Arrive Melbourne
On arrival into Melbourne you will be met by an A&K guide and chauffeur and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.This afternoon join the entertaining city dweller, historian, curator and raconteur, Kenneth W Park for your own private walk through the heart of ‘Marvellous Melbourne’.

Your journey starts with a ride on one of Melbourne’s iconic and much loved trams (trolley cars). Kenneth will lead you through the city’s fascinating labyrinth of atmospheric arcades and alleyways – you will discover lanes filled with trendy cafes and eclectic boutiques not to
mention some ‘out there’ graffiti street art and of course you will have plenty of time along the way to admire landmark buildings like the Block Arcade with its dazzlingly high Victorian interior decoration or some truly grand 19th century commercial buildings like the Gothic Bank.

You will see the hand of progress as you encounter buildings that have been renewed and transformed like old General Post Office. The Arcades and Alleyways tour is a wonderful way to discover Melbourne’s architectural and cultural heritage.

Note the Arcades and Alleyways tour involves a tram ride (s) and takes about 1.5-2 hours door to door.

Day 2 – Great Ocean Road
Meet your private driver/guide and experience Victoria’s Great Ocean Road – an amazing experience at any time of the year.One of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, the Great Ocean Road stretches 550 km along the southern coast of Victoria.

Travel it and you will discover some of the world’s most inspiring scenery, an ever-changing hinterland and charming towns and hamlets. Marvel at the huge cliffs, roaring seas, tranquil coves, magnificent waterfalls and secluded beaches.

Get an insight into Australian surfing culture at Bells Beach, with rugged cliffs and big waves. Discover seaside villages such as the popular town of Lorne, where you can stroll on the stunning beach. See koalas in the wild at Kennett River.

Head inland through the towering forests towards Port Campbell National Park to view the sculptured beauty of The Twelve Apostles. Many of these stacks of flat-bedded limestone raise 65 metres above sea level and are an inspiring sight to see. Visit Loch Ard Gorge and hear stories from your host about the tragic and romantic shipwreck whilst marvelling at the landmark.

Visit the quaint seaside village of Port Campbell with sandy beaches and picturesque cliff tops before your journey home to Melbourne.

Day 3 – Melbourne
Today is at your leisure in Melbourne!Recommendations for some optional touring include a trip to the Mornington Peninsula or to the Dandenongs that can be combined with the Penguins at Phillip Island. There is plenty to explore in Melbourne and the wonderful surrounds!

Day 4 – Melbourne – Adelaide – Kangaroo Island
Meet your chauffeur in the hotel lobby and transfer by private vehicle to the Melbourne Domestic airport. Fly from Melbourne to Adelaide and connect with your ongoing flight to Kangaroo Island

On arrival onto Kangaroo Island, you will be met by a Southern Ocean Lodge representative and transferred to your luxurious accommodation.

Day 5 – Kangaroo Island
The next two days are at your leisure to enjoy the inclusive activities at the lodge. Or you may simply choose to relax and enjoy your spectacular surrounds.Touring may include some of the following:

Wonders of KI

This half day experience is a spectacular introduction to Kangaroo Island’s wildlife, maritime heritage and stunning coastal landscapes and takes full advantage of the Lodge’s unique location. Cape du Couedic Lighthouse, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and a fur seal colony are just some of the trip highlights. Wander amongst the rare Cape Barren Geese and search the leafy eucalypts for a sleepy koala.

Seal Bay
Seal Bay is home to Australia’s third largest colony of Australian sea lions. Join our naturalist guide for an exclusive tour on the beach with these wild animals. Learn about their unique breeding cycle and the ongoing research programmes implemented on site. After your up close and personal experience relax with morning tea at the picturesque Vivonne Bay.

Coastal Clifftop Walk
Take a scenic walk starting right on the Lodge’s doorstep atop the limestone cliffs of Hanson Bay. This easy walk affords a bird’s eye view of thundering waves crashing along the coastline. Stand on top of the cliff with the wind blowing, look out to sea and realise there is nothing but ocean between here and Antarctica. Experience and learn about local flora, fauna and coastline ecosystems.

Kangas & Kanapés
Soak up the history of the early island settlers at Grassdale, a historic island property reached by a short drive from the Lodge and where local wildlife including kangaroos and wallabies congregate to graze. Observe these creatures in their natural environment, sip premium South Australian beverages and enjoy a ‘Kanapé’ whilst the sun goes down on another magical day.

Day 7 – Kangaroo Island – Adelaide
After a cooked breakfast, you will be transferred to Kingscote airport in time for your departure flight. Fly from Kangaroo Island to Adelaide (flight cost not included).On arrival into Adelaide meet your A&K chauffeur at the luggage carousel and transfer by private vehicle to your accommodation where the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 8 – Adelaide – Ayers Rock
This morning, meet your A&K chauffeur in the hotel lobby and transfer by private vehicle to Adelaide Airport for your ongoing flight to Ayers Rock.Fly Adelaide to Ayers Rock (flight cost not included).

On arrival into Ayers Rock, meet your representative and transfer to your accommodation.

Travel through the landscape as the spectre of Uluru rises from the sand dunes to demonstrate its enormity and presence in this country. Our first stop allows you a photographic opportunity of this amazing icon. With Uluru looming in front of you, your guide journeys toward the base. Walk with your guide to a place of tranquillity. The closer you wander the more you surrender to the realisation of the sheer size of this monolith. As you drive around the base, your guide will take you to the entrance of Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent watercourse nestled in the contours of Uluru. Here you will learn the Creation stories of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (python) as well as a number of other stories associated with other prominent Tjukurpa (Dreaming) stories. You will see the rock art of the ancients and learn how Uluru was, and still is, a significant location for teaching young Aboriginal people. We then adjourn to the Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area where you will observe an
uninterrupted view of Uluru with Kata Tjuta in the background before returning to the resort.

Day 9 – Ayers Rock

Meet your private driver/guide and depart the resort. The tour will travel through the landscape to the entrance of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. From there is it a 40km journey through the desert landscape to the mighty rock formation. On arrival at the viewing area you walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes that comprise this spiritual place while watching the sun’s morning glow as the desert comes alive. We make our way to the western side of Kata Tjuta where you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a gourmet picnic breakfast. As you approach the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, the result of eons of weathering and continual upheaval, your guide will share the significance of this men’s sacred ceremonial site. We take a stroll between these mighty conglomerate rock walls as your guide explains how the environment and the geology has evolved over millions of years. Your guide will return to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 10 – Ayers Rock – Cairns
An early start, but one definitely worth getting out of bed early for!Depart  this morning for Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to view the sun rising over Uluru. You’ll
then continue to the Mutitjulu Waterhole to view cave paintings and hear of the Kuniya/Liru Tjukurpa story.
You will then return to the Dune House for a well-earned continental buffet and a la carte cooked breakfast.Meet your Longitude 131 representative in the resort lobby for your transfer to Ayers Rock Airport. You will be advised of the exact departure time. Fly from Ayers Rock to Cairns (flight cost not included).On arrival into Cairns, meet your A&K chauffeur at the luggage carousel and transfer to your accommodation. Day 15 – Sydney
Meet your guide & chauffeur in the hotel lobby and begin your full day private tour of Sydney.Begin your day at Taronga Zoo where you will meet an expert Zoo Keeper for a private behind-the-scenes tour.

This special tour has been designed to encourage interaction between visitors and Australian Animals. You will receive an introduction to Australia’s unusual wildlife including excellent photographic opportunities with koalas, kangaroos and echidnas. Visit a real working animal kitchen and see how the food is prepared before venturing into the Nightlife House to enjoy close encounters with nocturnal creatures. Day 16 – Blue Mountains
Meet your driver/guide in the hotel lobby and depart on your private full day tour to the Blue Mountains.Departing your hotel this morning your private tour starts in the historical precinct of the Rocks, the birth place of Sydney and Australia. Heading north we cross the Harbour Bridge and west towards the historical towns of Windsor and Richmond. Some of Sydney’s earliest history can be found in these quaint villages.

We cross the Nepean River and proceed along the picturesque Bells Line of Road. Here we will pass by beautiful farming and agricultural land all the way to Mt Tomah, home of Australia’s most elevated Botanical gardens. Stop and enjoy a delightful morning tea and maybe enjoy a stroll around the gardens.

Continuing on we travel by Mt Wilson and onto Mt Victoria. Stop and take in the views as we pass by some stunning outlooks.

Lunch today is in the town of Leura. Enjoy a relaxed a la carte meal complemented by a glass of wine.

After lunch we skirt around cliff drive to view the famous Three Sisters rock formation.

Finally we drop down into a hidden valley where we seek out wild kangaroos and enjoy our last piece of the Blue Mountains with a relaxing glass of wine and a cheese platter. Enjoy the stunning surroundings before re-entering your luxury vehicle for your short drive back to the city.

Day 17 – Sydney
Make your way on foot to Commissioner Steps, Circular Quay where you will be orientated with Sydney from the most enviable vantage point – on the water! Cruising on Sydney Harbour is a classic Australian experience, and today you will board ‘Calypso’ – a 52 foot motor cruiser with a minimum of two and a maximum of 14 guests on- board for a lunch cruise.Whilst cruising this iconic harbour you will have the opportunity to swim, fish or kayak. However most choose to sit back with a glass of Australian beer or wine, relax on the sunbeds and take in the amazing sights – the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Luna Park, Fort Denison and the waterfront homes of the rich and famous. A barbeque lunch is served on board, while anchored in a secluded cove.

On the conclusion of your cruise, make your way back to your accommodation where you are at your leisure.

Day 18 – Sydney Depart
