Bay of Fires Lodge Walk – Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive Launceston
Arrive early into Launceston and transfer to your accommodation to freshen up before driving to Barnbougle Links Golf Resort, one of the world’s top golf destinations. Enjoy 18 holes of golf with cart hire at The Dunes, rated number 2 golf course in Australia and number 11 in the world. Carved from the natural contours of the coast, this course has been designed to emulate the true links courses of Scotland and Ireland. Afterwards, your chauffeur will return you to your accommodation.
Overnight: Peppers Seaport Hotel
Day 2 – Launceston
Today, transfer to the impeccably restored Quamby Estate, a beautiful homestead located just outside Launceston.

Day 3 – Launceston – Bay Of Fires
After an early breakfast and briefing you are driven to Mt William National Park. The walk begins at Stumpy’s Bay, with panoramic views north to the Bass Strait Islands. Pass secluded sandy beaches and rocky headlands on your walk and enjoy the abundant bird life. The evening is spent at Forester Beach Camp (Approx 9km, 4 hours).

Day 4 – Bay Of Fires
On your walk south, marvel at the magnificent coastline with lichen covered boulders and soft sandy beaches set against the clear blue waters. Lunch is at one of the sheltered coves along the way to Eddystone Point Lighthouse and your onward walk takes you past secluded beaches, coves and marsupial lawns before arriving at the imposing Bay of Fires Lodge (Approx 14km, 7 hours).

Day 5 – Bay Of Fires – Launceston
Relax at the lodge or set off on another adventure paddling the tranquil waters of Ansons River in a kayak. There’s also time to pamper yourself with a treatment at the lodge’s new eco-spa which has an idyllic setting, breathtaking views and treatments inspired by indigenous healing practices.

Day 6 – Bay Of Fires – Launceston
After breakfast, explore the nearby beaches and headlands, take a swim or simply curl up with a book. Then make your way on foot through the fragrant inland heath and peppermint forests to a secluded spot for lunch. This afternoon transfer to the Pipers Brook wine region for a celebratory drink with newfound friends at the renowned Apogee vineyard. Return to Quamby Estate this evening (Walking approx 4km, 1 hour).
